The use of AI-based machine translation is a great starting point for mass conversion of OER into other languages. The LibreTexts's current infrastructure will allow authors to convert any OER text on our platform into a new language at the press of a button. To address the needs of student populations with limited proficiency in English, we partnered with the Higher Education team at Amazon Web Services to build a Polyglot Engine to convert existing OER texts in English into other languages. The Polyglot Engine provides the infrastructure to load open access texts from LibreTexts libraries, pre-process and translate them, then save them to a designated path on another LibreTexts library.
